Sponsors & Volunteers

It shall be the duty of the President to schedule and preside over all meetings, act as chief executive officer of the Boosters and, subject to the control of the Executive Committee, have general supervision, direction, and control of the Boosters. The President shall serve as the liaison to the instrumental music teacher and CVHS administration on behalf of the Boosters. The President shall sign all contracts, subject to the approval and ratification of the Executive Committee.

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep a record of all meetings, maintain records of all communications issued by the Boosters to the public at large, retain all records and historical documentation of the Boosters, and provide secondary authorization for all expenses or disbursements issued on behalf of the Boosters.

The duties of the Executive Vice President shall include assisting the President with duties as requested, assuming the duties of the President in the event the President is temporarily unavailable, implementing the key duties of any vacant Officer position as determined by the Executive Board.

The duties of the Vice President of Membership shall include soliciting memberships among the CVHS community, alumni, and the public at-large. Maintaining records of current and previous memberships, communicating with Booster members regarding Booster activities. The duties also include maintaining contact information for families of current CVHS instrumental music students and maintaining a contact information list for the current year and at least two previous years.

The duties of the Vice President for Volunteers shall include coordinating the volunteer needs of the Boosters, soliciting CVHS parent volunteers when needed, maintaining records for at least the two previous years of volunteers' contact information, informing volunteers of the policies and requirements of the Boosters, Castro Valley Unified School District, CVHS, Megan’s Law clearance, etc. as relevant and required. Serving as the liaison between the Booster Officers and volunteers as needed.

The duties of the Vice President of Fundraising shall include planning an annual fundraising goal and a fundraising program to achieve that goal. Implementing the fundraising program with the assistance of the Executive Board. Maintaining records for at least the two previous years of fundraising programs.

The duties of the Vice President of Merchandise shall include managing Booster inventory of merchandise for sale, and identifying and implementing other opportunities to build spirit in and for the CVHS Trojan Brigade band program and related instrumental music programs.

The duties of the Vice President of Communications shall include preparing Booster communications to be disseminated to the community or subsets thereof as approved by the President, maintaining relationships with local news outlets and providing them with pertinent information as determined by the President, and managing the Booster’s webpage and social media accounts.

The duties of the Member At Large shall include serving as a liaison to the general membership, and fulfilling Booster needs as necessary to achieve overall Booster goals.
