As the Director of Instrumental Music at Castro Valley High School, I have the privilege of leading the concert, jazz, and orchestral ensembles, as well as the award-winning Trojan Brigade marching band and winter percussion program. Since joining the program two years ago, my goal has been to cultivate a thriving, high-achieving department that embodies both musical excellence and Trojan pride.
What makes Castro Valley High School especially meaningful to me is the people. The students inspire me every day with their dedication, talent, and willingness to grow through music. The families and broader community contribute immeasurably to the success of the program, creating an atmosphere where young musicians can flourish not only as performers but also as leaders and citizens. I deeply value the culture of collaboration and support that defines Castro Valley, and I am honored to be part of a school that celebrates both tradition and innovation in the arts.
I would also like to extend my sincere appreciation to the Castro Valley High School Administration, the Trojan Brigade Band Boosters, Music parents, and community members for their continued dedication and investment in the program. Their partnership makes it possible to provide life-changing experiences for our students—whether on the concert stage, in the stands, or on the competition field. Together, we are building a legacy of excellence that reflects the very best of Castro Valley High School.
